This was my primary canvas for around a decade. I merged different graphical elements to create new visuals, curated the musical playlists, and wrote stories and poems for a mod (modification) called “Ultimate Deadly Encounters: Sands of Time”. Tonycubed2, who has become a dear friend of mine, permitted me to create the site for his mod, and gave me full reign. Thus, one of the Nexus (modding community) community’s most gothic site was born.
The site was an instant hit and received 300 unique visits per month for close to 7 years prior to the original host going down. I re-created the site in its entirety though, and you may visit it, as it was in its prime.
This site was the opposite of the Sands of Time in that it didn’t focus on horror, or the macabre, it was a beautiful “scene-by-scene” adventure that brought many mods (again, for Skyrim) to your attention based on the “scene” you were on. It was designed to pay homage to the older Sierra, point and click adventure games, that gave a sense of awe and wonder. It was intended to be a place for both parents and their children to explore and get lost in. (I wanted it to invoke nostalgic feelings.)
However, it used the same host that the original Sands of Time site used and therefore went offline when they shut down their servers. I have considered bringing it back, but for now, it’s just a pleasant memory.
For the Nexus—a gaming modification community, I took many graphics and edited them to have a nice (usually) darker touch. Also, I helped many mod authors dress up their mod pages and many in the community appreciated the work I had done for them.
The person I worked the most for was Tonycubed2, whom I ended up creating the Sands of Time site for. My profile on the Nexus gives links (if still active) to my works.
