If I were pretty, I would know love...
I wish I were pretty, so he'd only look at me
I wish I were pretty, so he didn't desire what he saw on TV
I wish I were lovely, so he wouldn't lust for another
I wish I were lovely, so he didn't fantasize about others
Why am I ugly? I wish I were enough instead of disgust
How come I'm so ugly—cheated on and broken trust
I look in the mirror, crying my ugly tears wholly
When a man sees me, he just wishes I were pornography
I can't change my looks, but I can direct the hate
I'm not good enough, so I'll validate and eradicate
Staring at myself now, reflections of brokenness...
Why am I not worthy? Why am so disgraced?
Why am I just a plaything—so easily replaced
Is this my just deserts for how I am?
I must be broken to be judged like this—damned
Why the hell was I not given a chance?
So disgusting, not worth a second glance
Why was I born to look this way?
In a place nobody cared anyway
Why the fuck am I so untouchable?!
Why did God make me so unlovable?!?
Do you see me!?
Do you see what you've done!?
I'll show them, the hurt I feel
I'll make them know, this is real
Maybe then they'll see
Maybe then they'll finally believe me
The time is now to reveal the truth...
The blade in my hand, slashing my face violently
To expose the loathing, no longer suffering silently
Every cut, the ugly duckling deserves
Every mark, to leave scars to preserve
If I'm not pretty, then I'll fully own it now
I can't stand to look at myself, made so hideous and foul
Violating "pretty girls smile", I'll show
So pitiful and pathetic, I know
The ripping away, and scarring so purifying
The pain, the agony—being alive while feeling like dying
Gashes and lines, deep and raw
I see myself now, like he saw
This horrid face can't be loved, who would?
All the blood running down now, as it should.
Lacerations—horrid visuals now awake—absent of emotion
All this gore, splattered realities--not worth any commotion
Am I pretty now, with lovely red?
Hiding how hideous—I have bled
People will see now, finally see how ugly I truly am
So grotesque, I should warn them--for my feelings never gave a damn
Hating me for all that I see, wishing to be anyone else
The slashes in my face, remind me to loathe myself
I would kill to be what my man would desire
I just want someone to have eyes for me—to be their fire
I'm just ugly me, crying so pitifully
I'm just hideous me, wishing I were pretty
Longing for desired touch, but feeling the absence of
If only I were pretty, longing for acceptance—unanswered prayer above
I just want to be... truly loved
