Focus Update: Server Migration

This site was succesffully migrated over to DreamHost’s EU servers! This change aligns with GDPR data residency principles and strengthens visitor privacy protections.

1) Migrated Site to EU Based Servers

This has been in the works for a while now. Moving over to EU servers aligns with this site’s focus on providing a protected and secure place for its viewers.

Added a version number to the policy and updated to reflect that the site is now hosted in the EU.

1) Added Music for the Non-Poem Pages

Pages, such as The Chronicle and the Contact pages, etc. have had an ambient music player added.
This makes the site more of an immersive experience now.

2) Created an “Exit Page” (Currently Titled “Leave Site”)

This page offers alternative poetry and art sites for those that wish to not proceed when reading the consent page.
This gives viewers an easy out, while also giving them a chance to still view view poetry—just not mine.

3) Created an Instruction Page for Enabling Autoplay

Since the site is now an auditorial experience, as well as visual, this page will guide viewers on how to permit Autoplay for their preferred browser.

4) Enhanced the Intro page (Home Page)

Added graphical improvements and linked to the new auto-play instruction page.

5) Enhanced the “My Other Works” Page

Added a bit more back-story behind the current works listed and added some interactive visuals.

6) Enhanced the “Website Updates” Section

I upgraded the Website Updates section of the Chronicle (what you’re reading) to be more visually appealing and less cluttered.
Important / Legal updates, such as anything to the Privacy Policy or Terms of Service are colored golden to easily stand out.

7) Updated the Privacy Policy

This update added a clause for external links (now added by the “Leave Site”) page, and enhanced the overall document to be more specfic and clear.
Atmospheric music has also been added to the page. (I figured if someone is going to read a giant wall of text, they might as well enjoy some music while at it. So, Enjoy!)

1) Added a “Site Census”

You’ll find it located both in the footer of the site and at the top of The Chronicle (this page).
This new Census quickly gives an overview of stats, such as poem count and when additions and updates were uploaded / made. This allows viewers to quickly tell if anything has been updated since last visit.

2) Implemented a New Site Favicon / GhostAgent Logo

It has been placed on all external platforms (such as Fourthwall and Buttondown, etc.) for continuity and brand consistency.

3) Enhanced Page Backgrounds

The non-poem pages now, like The Chronicle, Acknowledgements, Contact (encrypted and standard), Caring Resources, Privacy Policy, and Other Works pages have had unique backgrounds applied.

The policy has been refined for greater clarity and added specifics regarding data retention.

I chose this service because it grants the ability to disable all email open, link and UTM tracking—which I have done.
I figured using a Newsletter would be an easy way to inform those interested when new poems are uploaded.

1) Added Privacy Focused Site Analytics—No Cookies, No Personal Data—Powered by Plausible

Plausible does not sell or share data, build profiles, or track users across the web, and are completely independent and open source. This is why I chose them.

2) Created a Privacy Policy Page

The Privacy Policy details how this site uses privacy focused solutions to help protect its viewers.
Privacy and Protections for my viewers are very important to me. Due to the nature of some of my works (such as those that focus on trauma), if a viewer decides to reach out and tell me “you’re poem really hit home, because it’s my story”. I want to honor that with the utmost respect that it deserves

1) Added Ambient Music

Ambient music tracks have been added to all the different Emotion pages and to the story poems

2) Changed Background Colors

I changed the background colors for the Poetic Reflections and Visiting the Grave sections. They are now unique, like the rest.

The Abyss and the Stories sections now have unique backgrounds applied

4) Created an Acknowledgements Page

The page is a dedicated page for crediting the artists for their music (and AI for the images), and any future collaborations.
All music used for this site is either licensed, or permission from the artist has been given. This new page allows me to properly give credit where credit is due.

1) Added AI Generated Images For Poems

I used Proton’s AI “Lumo”, to create beautiful, gothic and oil paintings as overlays (and underlays) to the poem pages.
For the prompts, I used the poems themselves (since Proton doesn’t train it’s AI from user input, and it’s encrypted).
I would tweak the prompt occassionaly after its initial output to hone in on the vision of the poem, but for the most part, everything is just from the poems themselves.

2) Enhanced the Intro Logo and Intro Disclaimer Text

Added / Altered some graphical effects

3) Added a Dark Filter—a “Sun Screen”—for Colored Backdrops

Some of the colors for the Emotion pages were bright, so I applied a code to darken all the colored backgrounds.
This should prevent your eyes from hurting when viewing a brighter color.

4) Added a Total Poem Counter to the Chronicle

You’ll find it in the top left of this page. It’s a nice quick way to see if any new poems have been added since last vist.
