A Friend Vanishing

I realize now the pain is due to loss
A heart that was on the line, felt the frost

It's a desire for the warmth only you could provide
We were so close and with your absence—I feel a part of me has died

I guess I never knew how much I truly loved you
Until a forceful departure buried us and did undo...

what seemed like a dream finally beckoning
to pursue you and reveal this heart's reckoning

But it wasn't for anything, as it seems we're just going...
to fossilize this distance and watch as the dreams go floating

It was a good dream though, and the feelings were real
I'll still write though, because it's the only way you'll be near
