Grateful for the Moments

More than a pretty face
You uplift darkened days
With utmost elegance, the day you grace
My heart suffers from your playful ways

Nonstop joy, you grant the gift
My spirits downtrodden, you finally uplift

So much desire, to engulf you with now
Overwhelming, not sure which piece of this heart to give first anyhow

You are in my thoughts always at this juncture
Through my most focused thoughts you puncture

So delighted to see what you’ll be
So much afraid to share how much you mean to me

I dream now of you night and day
All the laughter, the teasing and play

I am so proud when we walk side by side
It feels like showing you off, I’m filled with pride

I love your quick wit, and humor, and mischievous fun
I wish we had that joy every day, hoping it has just begun

I don’t know where this friendly relationship will go
But I know with utmost certainty where it leads, I will follow

What makes you so special is everything you do
I’m grateful for every moment that I get to be with you
