Spring Evening

It was a good day, in an eventful way
So many close friends in quick succession--loving protection

To travel to see, what normally is hidden from me
There were laughs and conversation, planting seeds for strong foundations

The daylight grew tired, and peaceful rest the sun desired
As it lay its head to sweet surrender, the evening hues spread wondrous splendor

Night then came upon the crowd, the echoing murmurs collectively so loud
It was then that the people dispersed, no longer fretting the worst

As they gratefully return to their serene sanctum, their temple lights dim--rest to come
Out emerge the night critters making their calming sounds, singing to one another now that no one is around

The quiet solitude emerges and shows, forging anew as the darkness it keeps grows
All fear and doubt and worry now put to rest, the time for fighting now gone, as the sun has already set

Here lie the warriors of the day, as they kneel by their beds and pray
Knowing tomorrow will return, and once again their fires will burn

But for the moment all are safe and secure, as blackness covers so they reassure
To sleep now is their reasoning, after life's battles are done before this restful Spring Evening
