Still Alone

So much hope, lost again
Questioning what’s the point, tired of just being a friend

Get my hopes up, to drop so low
Wishing for a relationship to finally go

To where it needs to lead, to lovely fields under starlit sky
No more threats, no more lies, no more uncertainty, no more asking, "why"

I want to look at her, and tell her how I feel
She'll tear up, knowing everything I said is real

I'll be in love, and I will see no other
There won't be any need, for I give all to only my lover

Such sweet and gentle touch over her face
So much calm, so much reassurance, that rests in place

She'll smile, letting me know I touched her heart
The longing, the missing, so strong when we're apart

This isn't a dream, but a fantasy that I always see
The woman changes constantly though, while I search for the one that belongs to me

I'll hold her in a field, full of tall grass swaying
We'll be laughing, watching the children playing

I'll kiss her cheek, she'll accept it with her smiling glow
We'll belong to each other, and the other will just know

We'll walk arm in arm, and she'll be a siren so fiery to a blazing degree
I'll be the envy of every man, with such a woman by my side like she

We'll laugh as we cuddle during rainy days
We'll taunt and tease, while we snuggle under sun rays

We'll be more than soulmates, in awe and wonder
So much passion to embrace, as she lies under

With each other, helping one another, there is no doubt with what we'll be able to do
All of this possible, all of this magic, a moment captured to celebrate the beginning, by the utterance of... "I... Love... You"
